Sleep Apnea - Sleeping is the only way that you can do in order to rest your body and brain without spending a lot of money. Your body and brain must have worked a lot in a day that it caused you to feel fatigue. When you think that you need a rest that is the right time for you to sleep. It is the condition when your breathing phase suddenly stops and starts. The condition is repeated many times. It is obviously not good for your body since it causes you to have high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, heart failure, and many more. It will also affect your body performance on the next day. That is why you should prevent it to happen.

Sleep apnea occurs more to men in their 40s. Besides, you will have higher chance if you are overweight. However, you do not need to worry if your neck is small or under 17 inches since you will not get it. If your parents suffer sleep apnea, then you more likely to suffer it as well. The condition will also happen to those who have history of GERD.

Types of Sleep Apnea

Basically, you will find that there are two types of sleep apnea. The first is Obstructive Sleep Apnea which is known to be OSA. This type of sleep apnea is more common than the other one. The blocked airway caused the disorder to occur because the throat collapses during sleep. The next type of sleep apnea is Central Sleep Apnea. Different from the first one, in this disorder the airway is not blocked. Instead of the airway, the brain is blocked that it fails to send signal to the muscle to breathe. That is why you might stop breathing before start it again.

Treatment to Stop It

If you do not want this condition to happen to you, it is much better if you do several things that will treat the sleep apnea. For example, you should make sure that you lose some weight since it is the main reason why the airway is blocked. Besides, you should also stop consuming alcohol and smoking since the effect is bad to your body. Your sleep position also matters. That is why instead of sleeping on your back, you should try sleeping on your side. Overall, you will realize that there is something change with your sleeping disorder.
